Important Information

Rent Balances

Be sure your rent balance is paid in full no later than Monday, November 18th to avoid late fees & a late notice from the office!

Work Orders

Be sure to continue calling in work orders as soon as they happen! You may call the office at 803.684.7359 to report all work orders.

Report All Income Changes

Please be sure you continue to report ALL changes in income & family composition to the office within ten (10) days of the date of the change! This must be reported in writing!!

Reminders

The York Housing Authority Office Will Be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 27th & Thursday, November 28th for the Thanksgiving Holiday!

YHA is still completing inspection Work orders through the end of the year.

Section 3 Information

If you have a special skill or trade please come to the office to fill out a form for YHA to keep on file for our next hiring opportunity!

VAWA

If you have been a victim of any type of domestic violence, please contact the office to discuss your rights under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

Reasonable Accommodations

If you need reasonable accommodation to help you in your apartment or with any part of the public housing program, please let the front office know so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.

Housing Choice Voucher Information

• Applications are still being accepted EVERY Tuesday.
• Waiting List Update Letters will be mailed out in January/February 2025.

Exciting News!

The Southeastern Regional Council of Housing Authorities (SERC) is hosting a basketball tournament in Columbia in January, and YHA would love to take a team! There will be a cheer competition also! Please read the flyer inside your statement for more information!

Resident Advisory Council

I am still accepting members to be a part of the YHA Resident Advisory Council. This year, I plan to take a group to the Carolinas Council Resident Retreat, so please see Jenny for more information!
